Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden
27-717 Old Mamalahoa Highway, Papaikou, Big Island, Hawaii
Flora so gorgeous and exotic you’ll fill your camera’s data limit to max capacity. Would anyone expect anything less from a nature preserve in Hawaii? Be prepared to spend a good amount of time walking and exploring the lush 40-acre rain forest valley that’s a natural greenhouse for over 2,000 species of tropical plants (the orchid collection alone is overwhelming!). You’ll also encounter several picturesque waterfalls and relaxing seating areas, which further enhance the meditative mood. Visitor’s tip: mosquitos apparently love the botanical garden as much as people do, so make sure to bring your favorite insect repellent.
