3 Poipu Road, Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii
The Kiahuna Plantation houses these charming gardens, once the property of Hector Moir (manager of the Koloa Sugar Plantation) and his wife Alexendra. To accommodate the arid climate of southern Kauai, Mrs. Moir populated the garden with a handsome collection of drought tolerant plants such as towering cacti and various exotic succulents, coconut and wiiwii trees, orchids, water lilies, plumeria, and much more. At the center is the Moir’s former plantation estate—now an eatery called the Plantation Gardens Restaurant. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite after strolling the gardens’ lovely grounds.
