Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum
3957 Hansen Road, Puunene, Maui, Hawaii

Learn how the sugarcane industry not only contributed to Maui’s economic growth, but also how it shaped the island’s large multi-ethnic community. This little museum was the former home of the sugar mill’s superintendent, and today, each room features exhibits on different aspects of the industry. For example, the Plantation Room contains artifacts and information about the day-to-day lives of plantation workers, the Field Work Room has original equipment used in the fields, and the Water Room showcases the vast irrigation system that provided water to the fields as well as the people who accomplished this extraordinary feat of construction and engineering.
