Lyon Arboretum
3860 Manoa Road, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

More than just a beautiful botanic garden, the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum is managed by the University of Hawaii and is a world leader in horticulture, ethnobotany, and conservation biology. Located within the wet rainforest of the Manoa Valley, the arboretum spans 194 acres and features over 5000 tropical plants within a number beautifully-arranged themed gardens (i.e. the Herb and Spice Garden and the Native Hawaiian Garden). It also boasts one of the largest garden palm collections in the world. Be advised that some of the trails will lead you through rocky and uneven ground, so make sure to bring proper hiking footwear. |
